Clara Elma Kerner March 30, 1933 - July 19, 2025 On Saturday, July 19, 2025, Clara Elma Kerner was called to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born March 30, 1933, in Everett, Washington, to Loren and Myrtle Seeley.
Clara dedicated the early years of her life to raising her five children, Michael, Teresa, Leslie, Stephen, and John. A loving homemaker, she instilled strong values of faith, kindness, and resilience in her children, creating a warm arm and welcoming home. After her children were grown, Clara pursued a new path and earned her certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She worked in that field for a time, providing care and compassion to those in need.
Later, due to health challenges, Clara transitioned into a new chapter and opened a health food store in Castle Rock, Washington. Eventually relocating it to Chehalis, she transformed the store into a GNC, which her son John continues to own and operate today. Clara's dedication to wellness continued when she earned her Doctor of Naturopathy Diploma through Trinity College of Natural Health in 2004.
Clara had many passions including studying the Bible, volunteer work, sewing, scrapbooking, knitting, painting, and cooking. She found joy in creativity and cherished the time spent with her family. Like her husband Wes, Clara loved to travel. Together, they explored the country in their RV and made countless memories and friendships through their RV club, affectionately known as "Sam's Twin Rollers." They also shared many adventures on the water, yachting through the Puget Sound and along the Pacific coast.
Clara was a lifelong, devoted Christian whose faith guided every aspect of her life. She found strength and peace in God's word, and was active in her church community. We take comfort knowing that Clara is now in Heaven with her Lord and Savior, and has been joyfully reunited with her beloved husband of 64 years and her daughter Teresa who passed away earlier this year. She is also reunited with her grandson Steven, who passed away in 2017.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Michael (Darlene), Leslie (David), Stephen, and John (Tania); six grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Clara will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her wisdom, warmth, and unwavering faith left a lasting impression on all.
A memorial for family and friends will be held at Hubbard's Funeral Home in Castle Rock, Washington, on Wednesday, July 30th, at 11:30 AM.
