Castle Rock, WA

LEONA MAY JOHNSON It’s with deep sadness we have to announce the loss of the matriarch of our family. Leona May Johnson, 82, of Castle Rock, passed away January 24, 2025, at Peacehealth St. John Medical Center. She was born August 1, 1942, in Longview, WA, to Harold Chamberlain Sr. and Irene (Nolan) Chamberlain. She lived in the local area all her life and attended Castle Rock High School. Leona was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who put her family above everything. She loved having her family close and spending all the time she could with them. She loved learning about her family history. She was a member of Ancestry.com and with her husband they traveled around the country researching and collecting information. In doing so, she helped connect many of her family members to long lost relatives. She meet the love of her life, Billy Johnson, while in school. They married February 27, 1960. He preceded her in death December 31, 2014. Leona is survived by 3 sons, Tim Johnson and Rex Johnson, both of Castle Rock, Scott Johnson and wife Angela of Longview, and daughter Tammy Pate of Castle Rock. Also surviving are 5 sisters and a brother; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday February 5th at Whittle-Hubbard Cemetery in Castle Rock. Arrangements are by Hubbard Funeral Home.
