Margaret Elizabeth Crayne of Castle Rock, Washington, passed away peacefully at home on September 11,2026, following a long battle with Alzheimer's and Dementia.
Margaret grew up in the Kelso area, where she later married the love of her life, Gary Crayne, on May 19, 1961. Together, they built a beautiful life and family and shared 65 years of marriage. In addition to their many cherished fishing trips to Neah Bay, Margaret and Gary loved traveling together, visiting many places throughout the country and creating wonderful memories along the way. Their travels brought Margaret great joy and became a treasured part of the life they shared.
Margaret was an avid gardener who found joy in her flowers and loved sharing that joy with others. She was also a puzzle enthusiast who enjoyed the challenge and satisfaction of putting all the pieces together. A talented seamstress, Margaret took special pride in making handmade baby blankets for each of her 33 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild- a loving tradition that will be treasured for generations. Margaret also had a special gift for making her house feel like a home. There was never a holiday that passed without her home being fully decorated. More than anything, she loved opening her home to her family, entertaining those she loved, and creating countless memories with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild.
Margaret's greatest joy was her family, and the love she poured into them will continue to be felt for generations.
Margaret is survived by Gary Dean Crayne, her husband of 65 years; Daughters, Stacy Phinney and Shannon Crayne-Comstock; Sons Gary Crayne Jr. and Ronnie Crayne; 11 Grandchildren, 20 great Grandchildren, and 1 great-great Grandchild; and many others who lovingly called her Sister, Mom, Grandma, Aunt, Cousin and friend. Margaret was preceded in death by a Grandson, James Matthew Payne.
