Susan Ann Ingram

June 6, 1952 — November 4, 2021

Susan Ann ‘Susie’ Ingram, 69, of Pe Ell, Wash., passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021, at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Wash., as a result of the evil virus COVID-19.

Susie was born June 6, 1952, in Pe Ell, to Harvey and Anna (Powell) Hollinger. She graduated in 1970 from Pe Ell High School, and could often be seen driving her orange 1970 Firebird around town. From a previous marriage, Susie had a son, Dana, and in 1982, moved to Homer, Alaska, where she met the love of her life, Sol Ingram.

It was love at first sight, and after 3 dates, Sol asked her to marry him. Sol was a professional arm wrestler, which allowed their little family to travel the country during competitions- Susie even took home some trophies of her own! In 1984, their son, Dakota, was born, and the family moved to Centralia, Wash. not long after.

In Washington, Sol opened a body shop and Susie became a CNA. Susie always had a love for children, and in the early 90’s was called to become the children’s pastor at the nearby Word of Life Christian Center.

Susie was so full of life, and had a beautiful smile that assured us that we shouldn’t worry and everything would be alright.
She was highly gifted and self driven to succeed. Susie had many passions and sewing was one of them. In 1995, she met the owner of JJ’s Bridal in the neighboring town of Chehalis, Jane Bates. Jane soon became a best friend and mother to Susie, who came on board as a seamstress at the shop.

After a few years, Susie was able to open her own shop in Chehalis, Sewsie’s Bridal & Diva Palace, which was located downtown for 15 years before relocating to the Yard Birds Mall a few minutes up the road. Expert alterations and a genuine love for her clients made her shop the place to go, and for the last 14 years, was THE spot for winners of the Miss Lewis County to get their complimentary gowns. Susie found great joy in helping stressed brides (and others) seeking the perfect fit look great; in fact, she often said that assisting soon-to-be brides was the favorite part of her day.

Susie leaves behind her heartbroken and grieving husband of 39 years, Sol; sons, Dana Craig and Dakota Ingram; grandchildren, Chelsea Roller, Amber Reynolds, David Craig, Cayden Craig, Jace Craig, Peyton Marie, and Amelia Grace; and great-grandsons, Blake Reynolds and Dean Craig.
